An exciting opportunity to join the team at Scarlet Wines & The Vineyard Kitchen has cropped up, and we’re looking for exceptional candidates to fill the role. Our Second Chef Todd is leaving us to pursue a career split between cider making and teaching (we know which sounds like the most fun!) He will in the future be making special guest appearances at our outside events, but more on that shortly... We have transcended the various stages of denial, depression and drinking and have finally come round to trying to replace him. We’re not sure at this stage whether we are looking for one person or two, so we are keeping the job description open in the hope of attracting either one experienced Sous Chef, or two Commis Chefs with high standards and even higher aspirations. It goes without saying that our new Second Chef/Chefs will need to have a passion for really flavoursome food which is served with care and attention to detail. The Vineyard Table menu is inspired by the cafes and street food of Southern Europe, Morocco and Lebanon and we are always keen to incorporate new ideas and dishes, as the menu changes seasonally. Our Head Chef Olly Hudson has been the mainstay of our food offering for many years, and it is under his guidance that new team members will flourish. The rest of the team is made up of some really quite quirky individuals who love food and wine almost as much as they love surfing, DJing, painting, studying archaeology or constructing fake rocks out of plastic. We aim to provide full time hours all year round, as well as training and opportunities for career progression. Salary will be dependent on experience, and we are open to job share ideas or apprenticeship schemes for the right candidate/candidates.
