Autumn Mixed Case
To celebrate the season of crunchy leaves, blackberry and apple crumble and roast dinners, we have created a special mixed case to accompany the gradual onset of hibernation. Reds to match the rich, earthy flavours of the season, and whites to awaken the palate.

Jiminez Landi Bajondillo (normally £10.95)
DO Mentrida, Spain
Grapes varieties - Syrah, Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Grown in four separate parcels and hand-harvested, this is fermented in stainless steel. Cold pre-fermentation maceration occurs for 2 to 5 days, soft extraction and maceration follows for 15-20 days. Lees-aged for 5 months in new French oak barrels. Total production 20,000 bottles. Organic (non-certified.)
Tasting Notes - Fresh and vibrant with ripe red fruits and good minerality. Good with chargrilled meats.
Boukenhoutskloof Wolftrap Red (normally £8.45)
Swartland, South Africa
Grape varieties - Syrah, Mourvedre, Viognier (2%)
Grapes from selected vineyards in the Swartland were used for this blend. Low yields, small berries, intense colour and spicy flavours contribute to a harmonious blend. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak prior to blending and bottling.
Tasting Notes - Assorted black- fruit, violets and a hint of oak leads to a smooth savoury palate with a peppery finish. Soft tannins with lingering flavours makes for easy drinking.
Massamier La Mignard Les Oliviers (normally £9.95)
Languedoc Rousillon, France
Grape varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah
This wine is traditionally vinified by a very good Minervois La Livinière producer.
Tasting Notes - An unforced wine with good fruit and character. A good all-rounder.
Domaine St Hilaire Vermentino (normally £9.45)
Pays d'Oc, France
Grape varieties - Vermentino
Harvested at night for freshness, the grapes experience gentle pressing and cold settling, without malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes - Drunk young, a light fresh easy drinking wine with a delicate bouquet of lime, apricots and a touch of white pepper. Develops into a medium bodied wine with super acidity that provides a crispness and real length to the palate. Best enjoyed as an aperitif or with seafood and shellfish. Our equivalent to Pic Poul.
Passo del Tempio Cataratto (normally £8.45)
Erice, Sicily
Grape Varieties - Cataratto
The vineyards are located in the hills outside Trapani, Western Sicily in the Erice region, close to the town of Fulgatore. Most of the vineyards are on a gentle slope, with tilled terra rossa soil, at an altitude ranging between 200-400 metres. The vines are trained in the guyot system. Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures to preserve the aromatics and fruit characteristics of the grapes.
Tasting Notes - Pale lemon in colour, this Catarratto is crisp and characterful. It has delicious citrus notes and vibrant acidity making it a great, easy drinking Sicilian white.
Naire Verdejo (normally £8.95)
Toro, Spain
Grape Varieties - Verdejo
Tradition and modernity merge at this winery, combining an 11th century estate with an ambitious new project, ultra-modern winemaking facilities and the production of modern, clean fruit-driven wines from indigenous varieties. Monte la Reina is situated in Toro, overlooking the fertile plains of the river Duero, where the crisp, winter months and hours of plentiful sunshine, along with the quality of the terroir, produce wines with clear aromas, good body, flavour and intensity.
Tasting Notes - A lovely lively Verdejo with lovely fresh pear and almond aromas, followed by a nice citrus tang on the palate and a clean dry finish. It pairs well with anything you might match to Sauvignon Blanc including all manner of fish and seafood.
